Carrying a camera in VR is one of the key challenges that the technology is going to face in the near future.
That’s why, in the future, it is important to think about the next steps for how to create an environment where the technology can really thrive and have its full impact on the human experience.
To that end, a new study published by the Institute for Creative Technologies (ICT) at Carnegie Mellon University has found a way to create the perfect virtual space that’s “zero latency.”
The technology will be developed for use in the next generation of VR headsets, and the researchers have already secured funding from Google to explore the potential of the technology for applications in VR production.
“The future of virtual reality is going away from a headset where you’re literally wearing the headset and your body is your body,” said Dr. Zohra Farah, a professor at the Institute who co-authored the paper with Dr. Paul B. Anderson.
“It’s about creating the perfect VR environment that will really help people to interact with and interact with the world in VR.”
The team developed a system that was able to “capture and transmit” a video of an individual sitting in front of a virtual stage.
The team was able, in this instance, to capture a single image of the individual sitting inside the virtual stage, and then transmit it to a computer, which then took that video and rendered it into a virtual environment.
The researchers then built a virtual scene for the individual to sit in, which was “controlled by a mouse and keyboard interface,” according to a news release.
This virtual environment was then used to create 3D models of the physical location of the person inside the space, with the 3D model being able to rotate and zoom around the person as they interacted with the virtual environment, the release explained.
“To me, the coolest part of this work is that this system allows you to create real-time 3D virtual environments for a person in real time,” Farah said.
“And in that environment, you can actually create your own scene that’s real-world.
So this is really a game-changer.” “
In order to actually create a 3D environment that looks like a real-life environment, this system requires a lot of computing power, and you have to be able to scale it up to handle a lot more people.

The researchers’ system, which the researchers call the Virtual Reality System, works by taking a virtual camera that is placed in front the user, and using that camera to “paint” the image of a single person inside of the space.
The system then sends a “motion signal” to the device that is able to transform that image into a 3-D model of the 3-dimensional space inside the room, and can then translate that model into the virtual image for the 3Ds to render in.
The technology could eventually be used in a variety of VR applications, including in the form of virtual tour guide, a virtual theater, and even a virtual zoo.
“For a 3rd-person experience, I think this is going in the right direction,” Faranah said of the team’s work.
“When we talk about 3D space, you need a way of creating a virtual space, a room, that is totally seamless, that’s very realistic.
I think it’s a really good starting point for 3D technology.”
