American music is returning to its home theater.
American music theater has announced it will close the last show it will play at the Carolina Theatre in downtown Charlotte.
Theater manager Jennifer McKeown announced the news on Facebook.
“After many years of hard work and countless sacrifices, it has been announced that we will be closing our curtain call on our first ever performance,” she wrote.
“We wish to thank our wonderful staff and our loyal customers for their love, support, and prayers for the last time.”
The theater’s website states that the show will close on April 1.
The announcement comes a day after The American Academy of Dramatic Arts announced it is leaving the theater and will not be returning to play in Charlotte.
The academy said in a statement that it will be moving to New York City in 2019.
“The Carolina Theatre is a cornerstone of the artistic community in the Triangle and a place where our artists, our families and our friends come together to share their work,” the academy said.
